I'm a student at Michigan State University, studying for a bachelor's in Computer Science and a minor in Information Technology. I'm aiming for a career in IT. I'd like a job in web development, but modern software engineering job culture dissuades me from that pursuit, leaving me as just a hobbyist.
I enjoy building apps for the web and built this website to expand my knowledge and try new tech. I chose Astro for its powerful tools for static sites and how it requires minimal additional knowledge outside the basics. I wanted to challenge myself and build a site that was responsive, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing with minimal use of user-facing Javascript. I see no need to bloat a personal site with fancy scripting and I prefer to save that for real apps.

In my free time, I play the electric guitar. I'm self-taught and I've been playing consistently since the summer of 2023. I'd like to learn bass, drums, and piano/keyboard and some music production skills.
